Day 5 of Crochet Business Blogging- Are you my idea customer?

I must admit I did think about this when I thought about blogging. I wanted to blog about things that I loved and that I knew about. Which turned out to be sex and crochet...hahaha!! I spent several years as a "couples enhancement specialist" (ie selling sex toys and lingerie) and I have written and shared some of my erotic stories, not only with other crocheters but with people who don't crochet too. So it is my idea that I can successfully mix the two since I do crochet some rather sexy things. I want my blog to be friendly enough for other crocheters to visit my blog, I will share patterns I have written and found with those readers and I want it to be fun and sexy for anyone who just might be looking for something different. This is my blog market. Now my actual customer (who may or may not read my blog, although I hope they do!) will be someone who is purchasing my crochet items either for them self of for a gift. She is a trendsetter. She likes to stand out in a crowd. She can be described as eccentric or eclectic.

Are you my customer?? If you are tell me a little about yourself!!

SHINE ON!!

Day 4 of Crochet Business Blogging-My Code of Ethics

I was a bit stumped by this writing prompt because I had never really thought that crochet business run from home would have a "Code of Ethics". As I did some research I could understand having this in place not only for yourself as a business owner but for your customers too. They need to know if they have a problem how it will be handled by you, how you handle day to day tasks with customers, vendors etc., and how you communicate. By knowing this information they can decide to support your business based on your code of ethics alone.

These things are important to me as a crochet business owner and blogger:

TRUST/LOYALTY- I know that offering honest information about anything I am selling, offering or selling will ensure gained trust from my customers/readers. Over continued time of being honest these same people will become loyal customers and readers. This principle is something I hold dear to in personal relationships and I believe they should be upheld in business relationships as well.

INTEGRITY- I will exhibit consistency in my business practices, whether it be products, services, or information shared, my actions will reflect my values shared in my code of ethics.

RESPECT/FAIRNESS- I will be respectful to others in business and respectful to customers/ readers. I will honor opinions/contributions of others and embrace responsibility of my actions in order to be respectful. I will be fair and just in my decision-making concerning all business practices.

As I was creating this code of ethics I saw that this is the way I as a consumer, chose the businesses I frequent. These is not only my code in business but my code in life too.

Day 3 Blog Challenge- How will I Know??

Yeah I am playing catch up but I am not gonna give up!! For Day 3 of the Crochet Business Blogging Challenge is to list my objectives and how I will celebrate achieving them. Objectives are the proof that you have reached a goal. They are like little landmarks on the road towards your goal. I think for all of my goals that I listed in my Day 2 post the objectives are almost the same for all...
*I will have increased traffic to my website/blog....when I reach 10 visits per day I will celebrate by getting my nails done...YAY!!
*I will have blog interaction....when I have 5 comments in one week on my blog I will celebrate by taking myself to dinner...YAY!!
*I will have 5 sales per month between $50-$100 each....I will celebrate by buying myself a purse...YAY!! (I love purses by the way, LOL)

These are my objectives, since I only listed goals for the first 6 months of this year I will double my objects for the 2nd half of this year. Like I said...This year is gonna be great!!

Day 2 of 31 Days of Crochet Blogging-Where are you going?

When I think about what I would like to accomplish in my business this year...I get a bit overwhelmed. I find I have had this problem for probably the past 4 years. Not being able to sort everything out in my head has caused me to be somewhat stuck. Not this year!! I am determined to keep plucking through these 30 days and not give up even though I fell a few days behind! I know this year will be a great year for me and my crochet business!!

This is my list of things I WILL accomplish in the first 6 months of this year for my crochet business:

*Continuing to design crochet and knitwear- Writing, publishing and selling crochet and knit patterns.
*Self publish a crochet pattern booklet
*Create and implement a marketing strategy
*Post items for sale on websites that I currently have shops on, etsy, lish, ustrendy etc.
*Create a consistent online presence on social media, my blog and websites that I sell on.

YAY!! I have got some of the jumble of things out of my head!!
